Fallbrook 4-H is at it again

Fallbrook 4-H will have additional signups at their next community meeting, Tuesday, October 6, at 7 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. The meeting in September was very well attended as future members and their parents came to hear about the 4-H Youth Development program. Projects available for this year include archery, beef, crafts, community service, floriculture, goats, cooking, party planning, RC flying, dog training, sheep, swine, veal, vet science, presentations, quilting, small animals, camping, tailgating and more. The organization is open to youth ages 5 to 19 and is led by youth and adult volunteers. This year’s board is as follows: Dannika Long, president; Montana Massone, first vice president; Dillon Kayl, second vice president; Taylor Stites, third vice president; Cassie Strizak, secretary; Caroline Young, treasurer; Rebecca Ware, flag bearer; Packard Hampton and McKenna Massone, hosts; Malary Greenwood, newsletter; and Sam Kibbett, vendor. Fallbrook 4-H would like to welcome anyone interested in joining the organization. Members are expected to attend monthly community meetings held on the first Tuesday of each month and then attend the individual project meetings that they sign up for. Some projects meet once a month and some more often than that. The 4-H organization is special because younger youth are able to be mentored by the older youth. 4-H has many opportunities for leadership development and community service. Fallbrook 4-H usually is involved in community activities, such as the Christmas Parade, and youth who raise livestock may show these animals at the Youth Fair in May and the San Diego County Fair in June.
