Historic Designation Proclamation

I would like to take a moment to recognize an individual who has dedicated years to working on the project of honoring and preserving Fallbrook’s heritage and history.

I watched while Tom Casey drafted his “Historic Initiative” in late 2006 and now, with the assistance of the Fallbrook Historical Society and others, Saturday was designated “Historic Fallbrook Day” throughout San Diego County by our Board of Supervisors.

It is selfless citizens such as Tom who care enough about respecting the remarkable fabric and character of our neighborhoods to ensure future generations can recognize the roots on which this beautiful town was built.

This designation of these buildings and the downtown district as historic will bestow value to the longevity of times past in this community and will help to strengthen the bond we feel towards the town we all know and love: Fallbrook.

So, I ask you all to please take a moment when you can to show appreciation to Tom and the Fallbrook Historical Society and to Supervisor Bill Horn for taking the time to ensure our town’s rich history is as revered as its future.
