Free computer workshops for seniors

FALLBROOK — Nonprofit Fallbrook SeniorNet is offering a series of free computer workshops at the Fallbrook Foundation for Senior Care.

The workshop subjects and dates are:

• “Buying on the Internet,” Friday, Oct. 16, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

• “Moving to Windows 7,” Wednesday, Oct. 21, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

• “Thanksgiving Crafts,” Thursday, Oct. 22, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

• “PhotoStory 3: Making a slideshow,” Thursday, Oct. 22, 1-3 p.m.

• “Selling on the Internet,” Friday, Oct. 23, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

• “Preventing ID Theft,” Wednesday, Oct. 28, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

• “Using Picasa to Manage Your Photos,” Thursday, Oct. 29, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

• “Protecting Your Computer from Viruses,” Friday, Oct. 30, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

No pre-registration is necessary; just come in on the day of the workshop.

The Foundation for Senior Care center is located at 135 South Mission Road, across from the library.

SeniorNet also conducts a free computer help lab each Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Senior Care center. Their well-qualified volunteers can help anyone who is having computer problems, needs assistance in ordering a new computer or needs digital camera assistance. No appointment is necessary.
