Jeff Kidd and Mark Anderson plant native shrubs during a National Public Lands Day event onboard the Fallbrook Naval Weapons Station Saturday. More than 50 community members, including four local Boy Scout troops, spent the morning planting approximately 1,600 native shrubs, including California fuchsia, bush mallow and blue-eyed grass.

Boy Scouts from local troops 704, 718, 725 and 739 relax following a busy morning of planting native shrubs. With the support of the Fallbrook Garden Club, the scouts and other community members planted more than 1,600 shrubs at the Naval Weapons Station during a National Public Lands Day event.
