Fred G. Davis

Fred G. Davis passed from this earth into glory on October 1, 2009. He was born January 21, 1931, to Fred C. and Ruby A. Davis in Wilcox, AZ. Fred attended numerous schools in the Anthony, TX, area before moving to Fullerton, where he graduated from Fullerton High School.

Fred spent two years in the US Army stationed in Germany. He worked as a machinist until 1960, when he accepted a position with the Anaheim Police Department. He attended Fullerton College while working patrol and forensics. He later transferred to crime scene investigation and finally commercial burglary as a detective for 18 years.

In 1986, Fred accepted a commission as a revenue officer for the United States Treasury until mid-1988. He then accepted a lateral transfer to the Federal Maritime Commission, a presidential commission.

He retired from the maritime commission in 1993 and settled in Fallbrook. Fred was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and enjoyed worshiping his savior and fellowshipping with his church family.

Fred is survived by his lovely wife Evelyn of Fallbrook; son Robert and Sharon Davis of Woodlake, CA; daughter Karen and John De Groot of Visalia, CA; son Shawn and Linda Davis of Flagstaff, AZ; stepsons Mike and Joanne Love of Anchorage, AK, Deon Lepovac and Lisa of Vista, CA, and Dennis Lepovac of Texas. Fred had seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, at Christ the King in Fallbrook. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fallbrook Hospice or Christ the King Lutheran Church in Fred’s memory. Berry-Bell & Hall Mortuary is handling arrangements.
