Local author creates witty hero, connects with young readers

FALLBROOK — Author Walter Rouzer of Fallbrook always wanted to create a character whose humor and wit was much like his own: full of puns and imagination.

He has done that with teenage ghost detective Rebel Stone, the main character of his new book (the first in a series of juvenile fiction), called “Rebel Stone and the Ghost Whisperers.”

“My goal for the Rebel Stone series is to encompass mega doses of wholesome, original humor, thrills and adventure into every book,” says Rouzer.

Reviews

“I found this great new book aimed toward tweens. As parents we all know the hottest type of books for tweens and teens now are paranormal ones. The problem with some of these types books is that they are a little on the dark side. With ‘Rebel Stone and the Ghost Whisperers’ you get the paranormal part, but you also get humor. I certainly found this to be true and so did my 15-year-old daughter.” – http://www.momknowseverything.com

“I like ‘Rebel Stone’ because it is a detective/ghost story. He is a very good detective trying to solve a mystery about a room in the castle he is staying. That’s where he meets the Ghost Whisperers. They have to find a way to free the ghosts. It was an awesome book that I liked reading. I hope they come out with more. Your kids will like this book.” – Gabriel, age 8, http://www.southernbellaswaystosave.com

“Reading about Rebel Stone by Walter Rouzer reminded me how fun it is to just let your imagination run wild. I so forgot the thrill of expecting the unexpected. And if a 40-something grandma can still hide in the covers of this book then your tween will too.” – Crazed Mind, http://www.theysayimnuts.blogspot.com

“Rebel Stone and the Ghost Whisperers” is available through Barnes & Noble and Amazon.com.
