Deborah Zoller, president of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fallbrook Foundation, reviews how members of the community can become charter members of the Heritage Club at the recent Boys & Girls Club board retreat.
FALLBROOK — A kick-off for the ‘Heritage Club’ was held during the Boys & Girls Club Foundation’s recent board retreat at Pala Mesa Resort.
Deborah Zoller, president of the foundation, said the Heritage Club is “an association of friends of the Boys & Girls Club in the community who seek to ensure the future needs of local youth are met by including the Boys & Girls Club in their estate plans.” This planning might include a will, a charitable gift annuity, a trust or an insurance policy.
The club currently operates nine sites located in Fallbrook, Bonsall and Pala. Annual membership is more than 1,500.
Activities include a homework assistance program, a music program, arts and crafts, sports leagues in basketball and indoor soccer, leadership activities, nutrition classes, a social recreation room, recreational swimming and swim lessons and more.
Membership is $30 a year and no one is ever turned away due to financial hardship.
Heritage Club charter membership will be granted to anyone who includes the Boys & Girls Club in their estate planning between now and next September.

Dodge Trust Fund 1993, Geldard Family Trust 1987, Leone Gheen Trust 1986, Anne Goodwin Trust 2001, Arthur J. Hanson Trust 1999, Flossie C. Hanson Scholarship Fund 1993, Helen Hunt Trust 1989, Valarie Koistra 1990, Thelma R. Lemon Trust 1986, May Family Trust 1998, Arleen E. Millyard Trust 1998, Caroline Raleigh Trust 2000, Roesch Estate 1998, Louis L. Roripaugh Memorial 1995, Rotary Club of Fallbrook 1998 and Irma Thorne Trust 1997.
“The current donors to the foundation made a bequest because they care about the future of our children and they want to ensure that the needs of local youth will be met for many years to come,” said Zoller.
Membership benefits include: a quarterly publication on tax and estate planning, a personalized Heritage Club recognition plaque, a lapel pin, quarterly publications on how support is helping to change young lives, member’s name engraved on a permanent plaque to be displayed in a highly visible area of the Boys & Girls Club and a year-end dinner to celebrate the club’s successes.
