Fallbrook High School students prepare for food pantry walk

The annual November Run/Walk to Feed the Hungry to benefit the Fallbrook Food Pantry is coming and Fallbrook High students will certainly be present.

On November 14 at 9 a.m. at the Fallbrook Food Pantry, members of the cross-country team, ASB, CSF, Key Club and numerous other individuals from Fallbrook High will be walking.

The students would love to see a great turnout by the entire community in support of the Fallbrook Food Pantry. FHS is determined to make this the biggest turnout yet.

The students cannot wait to conquer the five-kilometer walk while raising funds and awareness for hunger both local and worldwide. Four-time attendee and ASB member Ashley Stalnaker said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed myself each time and am looking forward to another epic journey.” As the day approaches, you can contact the food pantry at (760) 728-7608 or visit http://www.fallbrookfoodpantry.org/ThanksgivingHungerWalk.

If you are interested in this event, which is open to the public, please print off a donation form/registration and bring it to the pantry at 1042 South Mission Road on the day of the event. Allow plenty of time for parking and registration; the event begins at 9 a.m.

Johnna Vande Vegte, an Associated Student Body member, said, “This is my first year and when I think about the help I will be giving to needy people, I am excited.”

Andrew Donoghue, a member of the cross-country team, said, “I cannot wait to do this run/walk because I can do my daily workout while helping out needy people at the same time.”

Organizers say one simple donation can make it possible for a needy family to have a Thanksgiving dinner to celebrate and enjoy.
