Frandell's expertise blended with Merrill Lynch technology creates a winning combination

Jon Frandell, vice president and associate resident director of Merrill Lynch in Fallbrook, continually places the financial needs of his clients first.

At Merrill Lynch, clients are guided in areas of advice and planning, retirement, estate planning, investments, insurance, wealth transfer, solutions for business, credit and lending, banking and tracking the progression.

“With Total Merrill, we sit with clients to profile their goals and objectives,” said Frandell, citing how determining risk tolerances are different for everyone. “Our financial advisors develop personalized plans, build a portfolio and continually review it.”

Keeping in touch with clients is imperative to the Merrill team.

Before Frandell began his financial services career in 1993, he was a commercial banker. After graduating from Whittier College in the early 1970s, during another recession, he landed a bank position.

Frandell’s job was collecting car loans and credit card payments. It didn’t take long, however, for him to climb up the corporate ladder.

“Through the years, I learned how to compromise with people,” he said. “I learned to negotiate and became quite successful at it.”

The talents Frandell brought from his banking to financial services career were his strong business acumen, analyzation skills and customer care.

Despite the economic storm many have encountered, especially last November, Frandell remains quite optimistic about the future.

“Although we still have a long way to go,” he began, “things are getting better.”

At Merrill Lynch, clients are assisted in every stage of life. The company serves as a wonderful, professional sounding board in addressing early investment issues up to the retirement years.

And as circumstances change through time, Frandell said, Total Merrill can help with plans which offer flexibility. Be it a job loss, rolling over a 401K or adult children intervening with their aging parents, Merrill Lynch is by their clients’ side.

“We have close relationships with our clients and they have been our friends for a very long time,” Frandell said.

For Frandell, joining Merrill Lynch was a perfect fit. Its superior technology and multi platforms remain impressive.

“Merrill’s way of doing business is very entrepreneurial,” he said, adding how many possibilities they offer their clientele. “Their technology and administrative support is superior. I’ve never experienced anything like it before.”

Likewise, Frandell has seen firsthand how Merrill Lynch wants their financial advisors to succeed.

Over time, Frandell has kept all the ‘thank you’ cards and letters he has received from his clients. “It’s a good feeling to help people and that’s why I come to work,” he said.

His experience in solving complex issues is noteworthy. He enjoys devising personalized solutions for his clients.

Frandell, a longtime Fallbrook resident, graduated from Fallbrook High School in 1969. “My family moved to Fallbrook when there weren’t any stoplights,” he said. “Fallbrook is just a really special place.”

Dedicated to his greater community, Frandell is a past president of Rotary Club of Bonsall, past vice president for both Boys & Girls Clubs of North County and Boys & Girls Clubs of North County Foundation, past secretary and treasurer for Legacy Endowment, past treasurer for the Oceanside and Fallbrook chambers of commerce and past president for Armed Services YMCA in Oceanside.
