O'Connor published in 'Best New American Voices'

NEW YORK — Claire O’Connor, a 1998 graduate of Fallbrook High School, was selected to be one of the featured writers in “Best New American Voices, 2010” (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2009).

O’Connor is a graduate of Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in English. She received her master’s degree in creative writing from the University of Idaho, Moscow.

She spent a year teaching in Casablanca, Morocco and her short story in this collection is based upon the impressions of experiences she had while visiting Africa.

O’Connor is presently teaching under the New York Fellows Program at a high school in Spanish Harlem, New York City.
