Cigarette safety tips

A lit cigarette dropped on a mattress, overstuffed chair or couch can smolder for hours before reaching the combustion stage. Deadly gases and reduction of oxygen will result.

CAL FIRE recommends that people never smoke when drowsy, never smoke in bed and use only ashtrays that are of noncombustible materials that will prevent a lit cigarette from falling as it burns. Be fire safe, not sorry!
