It is customary to tip transportation drivers

As a business owner and Fallbrook native, I just wanted to post a friendly note to current and prospective customers.

We have kept our rates down despite rising fuel costs, insurance rates, liability rates, fees, licensing increases, airport authority increases, maintenance fees, permitting, dues, et cetera.

The amount of paperwork involved to keep current and legal in all aspects of the business is quite enormous. We are regulated by the Sheriff and the PUC, both of which have its own requirements.

When we set our rates, we take all this into consideration. Therefore, when we give a quote for airport service and state that gratuity is not included, we are assuming that the passenger will give the driver a gratuity.

We leave the amount up to the passenger and hope that their tip will reflect the service which has been provided. We guarantee our drivers a minimum and when they do not receive any gratuity at all, it hurts all of us in the industry.

We appreciate all of our customers and the fact that they are keeping their business local. However, we hope that everyone realizes that our business is one that customarily receives tips as part of its income.

Thank you all.
