Rotarians learn more about Student of Month program

FALLBROOK — On Tuesday, November 3, Fallbrook Village Rotary was honored to have Pattie Clark and Lynne Grantham speak about the Fallbrook Community Student of the Month program.

Village Rotary has supported this program that recognizes four outstanding students on a monthly basis during the school year.

Each month three students are picked from Fallbrook High School and one student from one of the district’s alternative schools, Ivy or Oasis.

Anyone in the community, as well as teachers and staff members working in the high school district, can nominate a student for consideration as a Student of the Month selection.

Students are picked not only for their academic progress but for their extracurricular activities both in the school setting and the community.

This program is somewhat unique to Fallbrook, and not many other schools have this type of program or the local backing to hold the monthly event.

The students are gifted with items from local organizations and businesses, including everything from pizzas to cash to savings bonds.

One of the most important items of recognition is the coveted special up-front parking pass at Fallbrook High for one month.

The Student of the Month award breakfast is held the first Thursday of each month at Fallbrook Golf Club.

Fallbrook Village Rotary is one of the sponsors of this great event and is honored to be included in recognizing these fine young men and women for their achievements and the goals they have set for themselves.
