Sponsors needed for Parade

FALLBROOK — Judging from the number of entries received at the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce’s office so far, the 28th Annual Fallbrook Christmas Parade is on pace for a typical 100-plus entry field as organizers and volunteers prepare for “A Friendly Village Christmas” on Saturday, December 5.

Those who wish to participate in the fun-filled, entertaining event need to fill out their entry applications this week, as the deadline is November 20.

Few Fallbrook citizens are aware of the costs involved to put forth such a large event that has no entry fees for participants.

Many services, supplies and rental items must be purchased so the evening is enjoyable for spectators, entrants and volunteers.

Neighboring communities have struggled with the annual costs of these events, so the Fallbrook chamber is grateful for those businesses and individuals who have stepped up with their donations so far.

Band trophies are being generously sponsored by the Fallbrook Masonic Center, but sponsors are also needed for the VIP/Band Presentation area.

These funds go directly to participating bands, so those who love music or just love to see marching bands are encouraged to give the chamber office a call.

Parade organizers are committed to keeping this Fallbrook tradition alive so it can be presented as a “gift” to the community in good times and in bad.

The joy on the faces of the children on the floats and in the crowd is reason enough to perpetuate this event, which is nearly 30 years old. Sponsorships are an important part of the success year after year.

Gold Sponsors ($500) earn a custom-made banner to be carried in front of their entry (if they desire to have one), but sponsorship levels begin under $100. Each and every sponsor check is greatly appreciated.

To obtain a sponsorship application, stop by the chamber office, contact “Elf Kathie” at (760) 728-5845 or e-mail [email protected].
