County amends vector abatement and control ordinance

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors has approved several changes to the county’s vector abatement and control ordinance.
A 5-0 Board of Supervisors vote approved the first reading and introduction of the ordinance on October 14, and another 5-0 vote approved the second reading and adoption October 21.
The changes, which will take effect November 20, streamline enforcement procedures, give authorities the right to inspect a property and to abate a public nuisance, and allow the county to collect costs for non-compliance.
