John D. (Jack) O'Callaghan

John D. (Jack) O’Callaghan, 78, passed away November 10, 2009, in Fallbrook. He was born March 29, 1931, in Boston.

Jack was attending Boston College when he enlisted in the Marine Corps when the Korean War started. He also served in the Vietnam War during his 32 years in the Marines and retired in 1980 as a Sergeant Major.

He worked in real estate for 30 years and was a member of the Koi Club of San Diego. A koi collector and fisherman, he also enjoyed camping and taking care of his family. He was tough on the outside, with a heart of gold on the inside.

Jack is survived by his wife, Mitsuko O’Callaghan, and son Sean O’Callaghan.

A funeral will be held on November 19 at 1 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with a reception following in St. Peter’s Hall. There will be a private burial.
