Auditions being held for 'Fame'

FALLBROOK — Auditions for “Fame – The Musical” will be held Sunday, December 6, from 12 to 5 p.m.

One of the stage productions most requested by local actors, “Fame” is nothing short of a global phenomenon. First was the original motion picture, followed by the television series.

The 2009 film version hit the big screen and now here is the opportunity to be part of the stage sensation. “Fame – The Musical” is indeed “gonna live forever.”

Set at New York City’s celebrated High School for the Performing Arts on 46th Street, “Fame – The Musical” is a bittersweet but ultimately inspiring story of a diverse group of students as they commit to grueling artistic and academic work.

With candor, humor and insight, the show explores the issues that confront many young people: prejudice, identity, self-worth, literacy, substance abuse and perseverance.

“Fame” is being produced by Fallbrook Players and will play at the Mission Theatre in Fallbrook March 12-21.

Auditions will be held at the Ballet Society at 325 North Brandon Street. “Fame” will be casting musicians, actors, vocalists and dancers and combinations of all four disciplines.
