Davis landed on the roadway below and was found lying in the number three lane of southbound I-15 by an off-duty Escondido police officer on his way to work. The officer called 911 and moved Davis off the freeway and onto the freeway shoulder.
Upon arrival, medics found Davis without a pulse. Advanced cardiac life support was initiated to no avail and death was pronounced via radio by a local hospital.
Medics noted injuries consistent with a fall and police found the decedent’s vehicle parked near the bridge on Old Highway 395. A suicide-type note was found in the decedent’s vehicle.
