Water main break

My landscaper informed me that there was “water running in the creek.” After months of drought, I knew this was not a “natural occurrence.” After determining that indeed water was running in the creek, and not knowing exactly when this water had started to run, I went into panic mode.

I made a call to Fallbrook Public Utility District and within 30 minutes they had someone out to my property to see what the trouble was. The trouble was a “main line break.” This break affected me and my neighbors all through the area.

The crew at the water company started to repair the leak immediately using the easement to access the problem. Unfortunately for them, the leak was at the bottom of the hill. They had many large trucks, a huge backhoe, welders, water pump equipment all driving through my property using their easement rights.

They worked through the night in frigid temperatures to repair the leak, not leaving until the problem was repaired. In the morning, all of the affected homes had water service restored.

They returned the next day and repaired all of the damage the issue caused on my property. Through the whole ordeal, everyone was polite and accommodating towards me as I had a few questions from time to time.

If any of you has the unfortunate event of having a water main break on your property, consider yourself fortunate that it is in Fallbrook where we have such a great crew to repair it.
