Holiday boutique raises money for adopted families

FALLBROOK – Live Oak Elementary School had its first holiday boutique on December 4, giving the students’ families and friends an opportunity to showcase their holiday crafts and/or businesses while giving parents an opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping.

The PTA offered free childcare and arts/crafts stations for all children. Live Oak’s student council hosted a gift wrapping station at the successful event organized by Sharon Stika, Live Oak PTA vice-president.

The student council and PTA decided that all the booth rental proceeds and gift wrapping donations will go towards gifts and meals for the school’s “Adopt a Family” program. Live Oak School’s Wellness committee, staff, student council and PTA buys gifts such as clothes, toys and other items for several families each holiday season.

This year, there are more needy families than ever, and due to the generosity of the school’s staff and families, the program can spread some holiday cheer to less fortunate families.
