Spellman's celebrate 50th anniversary

Charles and Betty Spellman, longtime Fallbrook residents, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were honored at a dinner party in La Quinta, Calif. at The Hog’s Breath Inn, owned by Clint Eastwood. The event was attended by their four children, their respective spouses and all ten of their grandchildren. The evening was topped off with a lively session of laser bowling and fun was had by young and old.

Charles and Betty met in Savannah, Ga. and were married on October 24, 1959. Charles pursued a career in the Air Force while Betty practiced nursing. Later, Charles became a commercial pilot for Pan American and United Airlines while Betty raised their four children. Their journey together has taken them from the East coast to the West coast and travels all over the world. After 30 years in Fallbrook, they recently moved to Sisters, Ore. spending the summers there and winters in La Quinta.
