I'm waiting for the apology

“I have the right to remain silent… I just don’t have the ability,” a great tee-shirt statement I read recently. So, here I am again, speaking out and glad that both Linda Costello and Randall Jones brought to our attention a matter most of us would not have otherwise known: cars being towed during our wonderful, traditional Christmas Parade.

It is possible the manager of the new Walgreens was unaware of the dedication and pride all of our downtown businesses put into the parade. I can give him/her that much leeway. But, I will not trade there again until I see printed in the Village News an apology to those whose vehicles were towed from Walgreen’s parking lot.

Anytime Towing, however, is a different story. They aren’t new. They are fully aware of the parking situation for the parade and they took shameful advantage of the fact that Walgreen’s called them to do the dirty deed. Our family will not call upon Anytime Towing for help, no matter how dire our need for towing assistance might be. The only possible way for them to redeem themselves would be to fully reimburse to the owners of said vehicles the outrageous $300+ fee they imposed. And I would have to see pictures of that taking place printed in the Village News.

A sad state of affairs from both businesses.
