Health drives held in Temecula and Murrieta

Blood drives and a bone marrow screening drive with LifeStream, the blood banks of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, will be held in southwest Riverside County this month.

Healthy individuals at least 15 years of age may donate blood. Those 15 and 16 years of age must provide LifeStream with written parental consent. Parent consent forms are available at any donor center or community blood drive.

Also prospective donors should be free of infections or illness, weigh at least 110 pounds and not be at risk for AIDS or hepatitis. Donors receive a free mini-physical as part of the donation process.

Donating blood takes about an hour, yet gives someone a lifetime.

At participating events, all donors will receive a coupon for Chick-fil-A sandwich, be entered into a drawing to win two tickets to anywhere Southwest Airlines flies and receive points as part of the “Gift of Life” Donor Loyalty Program that may be redeemed for items through LifeStream’s online store at http://www.lstream.org.

The Riverside Donor Center is at 4006 Van Buren Blvd. in Riverside. It can be reached by calling (951) 687-2530.
