Cessna flips on Fallbrook Community Airpark runway; pilot escapes unharmed

FALLBROOK - A single-engine small airplane overshot the runway and flipped at the Fallbrook Community Airpark today, but the pilot walked away without injuries, a San Diego County sheriff\'s sergeant said.

The pilot, identified as Michael Fuqua, was landing a Cessna 182 around 11:15 a.m. at the general aviation airport at 2141 S. Mission Road when the accident happened, Sgt. David Gilmore said.

He said representatives of the National Transportation Safety Board and FAA turned over control of the scene to airport manager and owner of the plane.

FALLBROOK - A Cessna 182 flipped as it was landing at the Fallbrook Airpark this afternoon about 11:20 am, but the pilot walked away unharmed.

The incident was turned over to the airport manager after initially being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
