Pastel painter to demo at FAA meeting

FALLBROOK – The next meeting of the Fallbrook Art Association (FAA) will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, January 11, at the Fallbrook Public Utilities Department (FPUD) building, 990 East Mission Road. Molly Lipsher will be the guest artist and will be conducting a pastel painting demonstration at the meeting.

Prior to the demonstration and meeting there will be an informal critique session from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Artists may bring one or two paintings that are in work in any media and will receive comments from Lipsher. The meeting and demonstration are open to the general public.

Lipsher was educated at Bard College, the University of Connecticut, Cornell and Harvard, where she received a master’s degree in landscape architecture. She is a member of the California Art Club, and teaches landscape pastel painting workshops at the School of Arts, La Jolla Athenaeum Music and Arts Library.

Lipsher will be conducting an outdoor pastel painting workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 17. If the weather permits, the workshop will be held at Live Oak Park; otherwise it will be held at the FPUD building.

The cost for the workshop is $30 for members of the FAA and $40 for non-members. Call (951) 698-7990 for information on the location of the workshop or to register.
