FALLBROOK – Local gymnast Brianne Aguigui competed at the Southern California State Gymnastics meet at the Town & Country Hotel in San Diego in November, 2009. Many gymnasts from around California came to compete for the coveted title of State Gymnastics Champion.

Aguigui, 10, competed in all four events, beam, bars, floor and vault. She took first place in three out of the four events, with the judges giving her a 9.7 on her floor routine. That was the highest score the judges gave a gymnast for that event.

Aguigui is now the 2009 Southern California All Around State Gymnastics Champion. She worked very hard and put in long hours at the gym this season and all of her hard work paid off. Aguigui is in fifth grade at Live Oak Elementary School.
