Abbott, Jameson, McGrath, Whittaker earn Eagle Scout rank

FALLBROOK – David Abbott, Geoffrey Jameson, Adam McGrath and Tyler Whittaker recently attained the rank of Eagle Scout within Boy Scouts of America.

Abbott, a junior at Fallbrook High School, is a member of Boy Scout Troop 718 under the leadership of Robert Turley. For his Eagle project, Abbott led a landscaping project at North County Fire Station #3. Abbott also participates in band, track, wrestling, and gymnastics at the high school. He is the son of Steve and Allison Abbott.

Jameson, a member of Boy Scout Troop 725, is a senior at Fallbrook High School and active on the school’s swim team. He said, “The best part of my scouting career was going to summer camp and helping others in need.” Jameson’s Eagle project was building a garden shed for the Fallbrook Community Garden.

Mc Grath, also of Boy Scout Troop 725 completed a landscaping endeavor at North County Fire Station #3 his Eagle project. He also held various leadership positions in his Venture crew and served as an assistant senior patrol leader and varsity team captain.

Whittaker currently attends Palomar College where he is taking computer animation classes. His Eagle project was building planter boxes for the Mission Resource Conservation District. Whittaker said, “Scouting was great. I learned much about responsibility, accountability and leadership. I made many friends and I had a lot of fun.”
