Historic Registry progresses

FALLBROOK - The Fallbrook Historical Society installed a Historic Registry plaque on one of its own buildings, the historic Pittenger House, after its February meeting. The plaque is one of 21 produced and donated by Borst Designs of Fallbrook. The granite plaques have been placed at each of the sites listed in the new Fallbrook Historic Registry.

Designating historic buildings and other sites in the community has been a desire of FHS members for many years and they have been active for the past three years, researching each site and contacting the current owners for approval. It is a continuing process as more sites will be added.

To recognize the completion of the first part of the registry a guidebook will be presented to the public, free of charge, at a celebration on March 6 at 3 p.m. at the Village Square. After refreshments, everyone is invited to tour historic downtown Fallbrook using the guidebook.
