Freeloading on the 4th?

Frustration set in when folks told me how wonderful the fireworks display has been on the Fourth of July. My reply, “Oh, I’m so glad you came to support the event.” The reply, “Hey, we watched it from our deck. We had some friends over and really enjoyed the evening…”

It takes a lot of hard work by lots of volunteers to earn the funds to take on beautification projects for our town.

Well, the main attraction of the party may be over. We have lost our funding for the display and realize that the loss of this key part of the day will surely mean less attendance or no event at all. Help us ‘Save the Fireworks.’

Oh, there have been donations from a nearby homeowner’s association, but, by and large people flock to the airpark getting a wonderful view, park on the streets, tailgate in parking lots, and just go outside their homes in the rolling hills of Fallbrook and soak up the fun.

We must have $25,000 by March 15 to confirm this spectacular event that raises the funds Fallbrook Beautification Alliance uses for maintenance of the South Mission medians, the Pico Promenade, improvements to Beech Street Park, maintenance of the murals in town, and the downtown flower pot project. As an unincorporated community none of these things would happen without the efforts of the FBA and the support of the community.

It’s up to you! Help by sending your donation to the Fallbrook Beautification Alliance, P. O. Box 434, Fallbrook, CA 92088 earmarked Fireworks,or online at .
