Four field hockey Warriors make all-CIF

Four members of Fallbrook High School’s field hockey team earned all-CIF honors.

Senior midfielder Kyle Little, senior defender Christine Russell, junior forward Lauren Hughey, and junior goalkeeper Jahna Jordan were named both to the all-Division I team and to the all-section team. Russell and Little were named to the Division I first team while Hughey and Jordan earned all-division second team honors. Little was named to the all-section first team while second-team all-section recognition was bestowed upon Russell, Hughey, and Jordan.

“That’s awesome, especially out of the entire county,” said Fallbrook coach Kathy Waite. “Very happy.”

The all-CIF honors were the first for all four players. All four were all-league players in both 2008 and 2009. Little and Russell received first-team Avocado League honors in 2009 while Hughey and Jordan were selected to the league’s second team, and all four were second-team Avocado League selections for the 2008 season.

The 2009 season was the third on the varsity for Little and Russell and the second varsity season for Hughey and Jordan.

“Just very pleased,” Waite said.
