Reche School on Historical Registry - Historical guidebook to be provided free at March 6 event

FALLBROOK – When the Fallbrook Historical Society included the Reche schoolhouse in its first group of buildings on its historical registry, it accomplished a goal the club had been working toward for a long time. Previous attempts through County channels failed. The Fallbrook Historical Registry recognizes the one-room schoolhouse that was built in 1896 and operated until 1939. A plaque recognizing its historical significance was recently installed. The building is owned by the Reche Community Service Club.

To recognize the completion of the first part of the registry, a guidebook will be presented to the public, free of charge, at a celebration scheduled for Saturday, March 6 at 3 p.m. at the Village Square, corner of Main and Alvarado streets. After enjoying refreshments, everyone is invited to tour historic downtown using the new guidebook.
