FALLBROOK - Five Fallbrook art students won awards in the Youth Art Month show sponsored by the California Art Education Association this year. The winning art was on exhibit at the San Diego Art Institute in Balboa Park through Feb. 21.
This year’s exhibition includes artworks from 17 public, private, parochial and charter schools in San Diego County. Other Fallbrook students whose works were accepted into the show were second-grader Austin Fuller with his chalk pastel composition “Dream of Shapes,” fifth-grader Elijah Newberry with his collage “The Treasure Hunter,” and sixth-grader Lauren Reynolds with her pastel drawing “Harvest Feast.”
All eight art students from Fallbrook who were in the exhibit study with Marilee Ragland at the Fallbrook School of the Arts.
All artists were presented with a Certificate of Excellence and student award winners were presented their awards at a ceremony on Feb. 21. The students who placed first, second and third will have their works sent on to a seven-county competition.
