Fallbrook Fertilizer, Feed & Farm Supply to hold Customer Appreciation Day Mar. 6

Fallbrook Fertilizer, a business that has served the greater community for 31 years, 21 of those as a full-service provider of agricultural, lawn and garden, and animal products and services, will hold a special Customer Appreciation Day on Saturday, March 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“We pride ourselves in being customer service-oriented and being very competitive with the larger out-of-town stores,” said Brad Urquhart, president of the company. And to show his appreciation for the loyalty the community has shown him and his staff, Urquhart said they will provide a free tri-tip and chicken barbecue from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day and have arranged $12,000 worth of prizes to give away in raffle drawings. Fifteen of those prizes have been earmarked as ‘grand prizes.’

Located at 215 W. Fallbrook Street, Fallbrook Fertilizer is housed in a building constructed in 1916 that was originally used as a tomato packing plant. Subsequently, it was used by Fallbrook Citrus Association to store lemons; Green Goddess Avocado as a packing house; as a grocery outlet, as a grain storage facility, as a dance studio and for local prize fights sponsored by a Fallbrook athletic group.

“The old boxing ring could be seen for years afterward,” said Urquhart.

Urquhart said $400,000 in indoor and outdoor renovations has led to the facility now featuring 14,000 square feet under its roof, ample enough to accommodate the company’s organic and inorganic liquid fertilizer operations.

Fallbrook Fertilizer, Feed & Farm Supply is the equivalent of two full scale businesses under one roof. The agricultural side of the business is evidenced by the large amount of space that contains liquid and dry fertilizer products and other agricultural needs. Pet and large animal feed and products comprise the other arm of the business with extensive product choices.

But what Urquhart is most proud of is the level of expertise found in his staff.

“Our average full-time employee has been here over 18 years and has a significant amount of experience to assist the customers,” he explained.

At the customer appreciation event, Urquhart said a variety of home, garden, grove and animal experts will be on hand.

“The first 100 customers will also receive a free gift bag,” he said. Questions may be directed to Fallbrook Fertilizer, Feed & Farm Supply at (760) 728-6717.
