Democratic Club to host candidate forum

FALLBROOK - Laurenn Barker, Fallbrook resident, will be the first of five speakers at the candidate forum being held at the Democratic Club meeting March 4 at Fallbrook Public Utility District, 990 E. Mission Rd. Although Barker is not running for office, she is a concerned citizen who has knowledge about environmental issues because of her many years as public relations director for a national firm of engineers and environmental scientists who dealt with projects similar to the Liberty Quarry. She will be speaking on the potential adverse effects to the environment by the Liberty Quarry.

Candidates for political office that will speak include Paul Clay, candidate for California Senate, 36th District; Douglas Dye, candidate for the California State Assembly representing the 66th District; and Howard Katz, Democratic candidate for California’s 49th Congressional District; and Fabio Marchi, candidate for San Diego Board of Supervisors, 5th District.

All are welcome to attend this informative meeting. Refreshments will be served. Questions may be directed to Joseph Crews at

(760) 728-9035.
