FALLBROOK – Brandon Gallery has announced that Elizabeth Taft, an award winning portrait artist, by popular demand has extended her special showing of portraitures in its Etcetera Gallery through March 31. The gallery is at 105 N. Main Avenue just north of Alvarado Street.
All displayed work reflects Taft’s proficiency as a portrait artist working in oil and acrylics. In her exhibition, “About the Face,” Taft shows portraits and portrait styles that reflect her “love of the beauty in others.” For many of the pieces, she presents a photograph of a sitting and then the resulting portrait as commissioned by the subjects.
A professional artist for 25 years, she has won numerous honors and accolades in local and international competitions. In addition to a busy schedule of gallery showings and competitions, Taft conducts workshops and is an active member of the California Art Club, Laguna Plein Aire Association, Oil Painters of America, the San Diego Watercolor Society, San Diego Portrait Association and the Portrait Society of America. Taft has a Bachelor of Arts degree in fine art from San Diego State University, pursued post graduate studies at University of California San Diego and studied art in Greece and Italy.
