FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Art Center’s Inaugural Signature American Watercolor Exhibition opened with the announcement of the first-place winning watermedia work titled ‘Odyssey’ by artist Su Y. Kown.

The Signature exhibition is unique in that all exhibitors have achieved Signature Membership status in a recognized U.S. Watermedia Society or Association, which brings the show to a prestigious level.

Kown, a San Diego resident, is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society (NWS) and the San Diego Watercolor Society (SDWS). She has received many awards including two from the NWS Annual Exhibitions of 2001 and 2007.

Juror for the Fallbrook Art Center’s Signature Exhibition was internationally renowned professional artist Frank Webb, AWS (D.F.) NWS of Pennsylvania.

Running in conjunction with the Signature Exhibition at the Fallbrook Art Center is the National Watercolor Society’s 2010 Travel Show from their 89th Annual Exhibition. This also brings the best of watermedia painting to Fallbrook, and includes a wide range of directions and techniques, from experimental to traditional.

The combined show, World of Watercolor, runs at the Fallbrook Art Center, 103 South Main, through March 28. For show details and more information see http://www.fallbrookartcenter.org.
