Gold found in Palm Desert

NORTH COUNTY - Local pickleball players just returned from competing in the Palm Desert International Sports Festival from Feb. 4 to 6. The North County Picklers have definitely made an impact in the pickleball world winning 27 medals in 15 out of 24 brackets. Despite a rain delay on Saturday, the results were amazing. (see sidebar)

The sport of pickleball has exploded in San Diego County and there are now places to play every day, somewhere in the county. For more information, contact Youngren at [email protected] or Pat Carroll, Pickleball Commissioner for SD County at [email protected]. The North County Picklers invite everyone to come join them at any of the venues. They always have extra paddles for newcomers to use so they can see why pickleball is so much fun.
