Woman's Club to help domestic violence victims

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Woman’s Club is taking on a new project this year: Purses & Pretty Feet. The purpose of this project is to donate new or lightly used shoes and purses to women and children at domestic violence shelters. Many times these women walk out on their abusers with only the clothes they are wearing. This is the club’s way of letting these women know that their community cares about them and supports them.

In order to make this project a success, the club needs the following donations:any size or any type of women’s shoes, women’s purses or handbags and children’s shoes, pedicure sets, manicure sets, knee-high stockings, clear nail polish, pocket tissues, lip balm, lip gloss, face and hand lotions, pens, paper, compact mirrors, wristwatches, body mist, antibacterial hand gel, hair rubber bands, calendars and daily planners.

The club’s goal is to provide purses filled with these items, and a pedicure set and knee-high stockings with each pair of shoes.

Items can be dropped off in at Manor Cleaners, 125 E. Mission Road., Monday to Friday until 6 p.m. or Saturday until 3 p.m., or at the Chamber of Commerce, 233 E. Mission Road, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If donating money, checks should be made payable to the Fallbrook Woman’s Club and be dropped off at Manor Cleaners (in an envelope labeled Purses & Pretty Feet Project) or mailed to Fallbrook Woman’s Club, P.O. Box 208, Fallbrook, CA 92088. Donors are asked to put “Purses & Pretty Feet donation” on the check’s memo line. Monetary donations will be used to help purchase the above items.

The club asks that all donations be received by Saturday, April 11. To request a tax deductible receipt, email [email protected].
