RAINBOW - A 29-year-old Murrieta man was killed today in a multi-car pileup on Interstate 15, when his car struck a guard rail and he was hit by at least one other motorist in the pre-dawn darkness, the California Highway Patrol said.

The collisions occurred about 4:30 a.m. on the downhill northbound freeway lanes approaching Temecula Parkway, also known as state Route 79, in Temecula.

CHP officers said Miguel Vega was the driver of a 2003 Mazda that struck a guard rail around 4:30 a.m. near the right shoulder on the downhill northbound freeway lanes approaching Temecula Parkway, spun out...
