Sixth annual Garden Tour coming May 22

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Garden Club will present its sixth annual Garden Tour on Saturday, May 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and it is expected to be better than ever!

To enjoy the Garden Tour, visit the Fallbrook Historical Society at 260 Rockycrest Road to pick up tickets, $20 each (or two for $35), and a map to the seven lovely gardens.

There will be raffle opportunities and the club will sell plants and various garden items. Art and artisans will be on-site at various gardens and vintage cars will also be on display throughout the tour. A select number of vendors will have garden items for sale. All the profits from the Garden Tour go to support scholarships for deserving students and other community projects. For more information, call (760) 468-5842.

Seven outstanding gardens will be featured that demonstrate the creativity possible in gardens of all sizes and in various landscapes. While every garden will provide ideas and diversity of design, the following is a glimpse into what participants in the tour can expect to see.

Artistry and refinement define the creative use of drought tolerant plantings in the Andrews’ garden. Attention to detail is everywhere and used to great effect. The lovely colorful plantings around the pool area are beautifully tied into the surroundings and provide a wonderful vista from all points in this special garden.

The Becker’s beautiful landscaping incorporates a practical vegetable garden and formal entertaining space. It is full of charm and humor, and even showcases a vintage caboose. Hidden among the beautiful mature trees are three large, thriving redwoods.

The Townley’s botanical garden was designed by Tom Piergrossi and features plants from the five Mediterranean zones. A subtropical garden includes bananas, pineapple, dragon fruit and passion fruit. Enjoy the fragrant flowers, Koi pond, succulent garden and vegetable garden all installed and maintained by the homeowners.
