FBA welcomes nominations for outstanding landscape awards

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Beautification Alliance (FBA) is pleased to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the Fallbrook 2010 Landscape Award. The program, established in 2008, is designed to recognize the efforts of individuals and organizations that contribute to community pride through excellence in landscaping, beautification and continued property maintenance.

We are delighted to announce a new category this year, called Water Wise Gardens, to recognize those gardeners that care enough to conserve this precious natural resource,” said program chairperson Anne Ondraka. “We were pleased to see an increase in the number of applications last year and look forward to an even greater number this year.”

Nominations may be submitted until May 31 for consideration in the following categories: Residential (overall appearance or improvement of property); Multi-Family Development: Apartments, Condo or Residential Development; Commercial Property; Non-Profit Agency (schools, church, museum, etc.); and Water Wise Gardens (garden must contain predominantly water-wise plants).

A panel of judges will select one winner from each category. Winners will be announced in the Village News and recognized in the community for their outstanding efforts.

To be eligible, projects must be located in the Fallbrook 92028 zip code and visible by the public, from the street.

There is no charge to submit a nomination, and the public is encouraged to nominate as many properties as they believe deserve the recognition and award, including their own. Photographs (non-returnable) may be included with the nomination, but are not required.

For a nomination form, go to http://www.fallbrookbeautification.org or clip from future issues of the Village News. Completed forms should be sent to: Anne Ondraka, Fallbrook Beautification Alliance, P.O. Box 434, Fallbrook, Calif. 92088. Nominations must be received by May 31.
