Fallbrook Hospital revises visitor policy to support healing environment

FALLBROOK – Fallbrook Hospital recently revised its visitor registration process to strengthen the ways it promotes patient privacy and safety.

Upon entering the facility at the main entrance or the emergency department, visitors are asked to register and indicate their purpose, whether it is to visit a patient, the gift shop, cafeteria or other department. A corresponding visitor badge is then issued.

Supportive family members and friends are an important part of any patients hospitalization and the healing process, said Alex Villa, chief executive officer. Visitor registration supports our goal to maintain a quiet and secure environment to help ensure the best possible care for our patients.

There are times when flexibility is appropriate, and individual decisions about visitors can be made by the patient s caregiver in collaboration with the patient.

While patients family and friends are encouraged to visit their loved ones, a patient s condition may make it necessary to limit visitors. Determination of visitation depends on the patient s wishes, the physician s orders, and the nurses discretion.
