The Elizabeth Hospice offers spring volunteer training

ESCONDIDO – The Elizabeth Hospice seeks caring people to participate in the spring volunteer training that will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, May 18, 19 and 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Escondido Elks Lodge located at 2430 S. Escondido Blvd. Volunteer training is free and open to the public. Bilingual volunteers are needed.

The professional staff at The Elizabeth Hospice teaches comprehensive training classes, addressing issues such as the volunteer role in hospice care, spiritual concerns in death, dying and grief, working with non-verbal patients, cultural diversity, complementary therapies, and active listening. Graduates of this volunteer training will serve hospice patients and their family members as well as Transitions program clients and their families.
