Lewis Black to perform at Pala on Aug. 14

PALA – Prolific stand-up comedian Lewis Black will bring his passion for absurdity to Pala Casino Spa & Resort on Saturday, August 14.

Black, a playwright and author, came to national prominence in 1996 as a weekly contributor to “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central. That led to his own segment, “Back in Black,” which he continues to perform with Host Jon Stewart.

He has since produced comedy specials for HBO, appeared as an actor in Hollywood movies and network television shows and as the voice of characters in animated movies and shows on the Cartoon Network. In 2007, he won a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album for his album, “The Carnegie Hall Performance.”

The show will take place in Pala Casino’s Starlight Theater at 7:30 p.m.
