Bonsall Rotary Club to host 15th annual Wine, Brews & Blues Festival

BONSALL – Bonsall Rotary Club will host its 15th annual Wine, Brews & Blues Festival on Saturday, May 22 at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido from 4 to 10 p.m.

Originally centered on wine tasting, the event has morphed over the years to become one of the premier blues festivals in San Diego County. This year’s entertainment will feature five live blues bands on two stages, Aunt Kizzy’z Boyz, Bill Magee Blues, Restless Blues Band, Michele Lundeen, and Not for Hire.

But there’s more than blues. Over 40 wineries and micro breweries will host tasting booths. Attendees will enjoy complementary dishes, hors d’oeuvres, desserts and coffee drinks prepared by more than 20 local restaurants and caterers. Cuisines will include Mexican, Italian, barbecue and other types of foods.

Proceeds from the event are used to support numerous local and international charities.

“This year Bonsall Rotary Club partnered with the charities it supports,” explained Ron Coulombe, Bonsall Rotary Club president. “We asked our charity partners to help market the event and sell tickets, and for their efforts, they may keep most of the money collected from their ticket sales. Based on preliminary sales, we are expecting a near-capacity crowd.”

There will be a live and silent auction of a broad array of items including trips, golf packages and fine art.

Guests must be 21 years or older to attend. Attendance is limited. Tickets are $60 per person and $40 for designated drivers. To make reservations call (800) 249-2024 or purchase on line at http://www.BonsallRotary.com. For hotel and limo information, call (760) 728-0044.
