Chester Robert Meck

Chester Robert Meck, passed away peacefully in his home, shared with his wife Velaire, on May 1, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. In addition to his wife, Chester is survived by his sons, daughters and grandchildren.

Born on May 9, 1919 in Cornwall, Penn., Chester was the eldest of 13 brothers and sisters. He served in the United States Marine Corps for 28 years, participating in three wars – World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. Following his retirement from the Marine Corps, he was the athletic trainer at Mira Costa College for 10 years.

The Meck family has been part of the Fallbrook community for over 50 years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Chester’s name to your favorite charity or Fallbrook Hospice.

Services will be held on Monday, May 10, 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Fallbrook, with internment following at Eternal Hills Cemetery in Oceanside. Chester Meck was larger than life and will remain in our hearts forever.
