Please support walk for Chrohn's Disease

I am the captain of Ali and Nathan’s Gut Gang. I am a 21-year-old college student who lives at home on Camp Pendleton with my family. I have Crohn’s Disease, a chronic intestinal disease that as of right now has no cure. This will be my sixth year participating in The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation Take Steps Walk which is taking place on May 22nd this year. The walk benefits research, support groups, camps, and many other great things directly relating to patients like my brother Nathan and myself.

I was diagnosed at the age of 13 after three years of weight loss, pain, and misdiagnoses. I have continued to struggle with Crohn’s ever since and have not had a period of time that I have ever felt good. I had my second surgery on February 25, where I had a foot of my small intestine removed.

I have experienced medications, surgeries, hospital visits, seeing many specialists, infusions, and many other health related problems like osteoporosis and arthritis.

Nathan, my nine year old brother also has Crohn’s Disease and was diagnosed at the age of 13 months old.

We are participating in the Take Steps Walk, which benefits Crohn’s research. I want my brother to have a future where he does not have to face the medical world like I have to.

If you would like to support us in this or have questions, please email me at [email protected]. Visit http://www.ccfa.org for more information also.

Thank you.

Ali Vaughn
