CAMP PENDLETON - A reserve artillery unit will be conducting continuous firing exercises from 7 a.m. today (Friday, May 21) until noon on Sunday, May 23. The unit will be firing high-explosive munitions into the Whiskey and Zulu impact areas.
Additional units will be firing live mortars into the Quebec and Zulu impact areas from 6 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. each day from Saturday until May 25.
From May 25 until May 27, units will be firing high mobility artillery rockets into the Whiskey and Zulu impact areas from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the firing may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.
