Marylene Payton

Marylene Payton, 92, passed away May 14, 2010, at Fallbrook Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born May 20, 1917 in Davie County, NC.

Marylene graduated from high school in North Carolina. She was a retired seamstress and office manager for Parsons Ammonia and Sun Electric. Marylene was a devoted Christian, loving mother and family member plus friend to all she met.

A widow, Marylene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and John Henker, Fallbrook, Calif.; sister Gladys Smalling, Tyler, Texas; grandsons James (Victoria) Cannon, Woodland Park, Colo., Bill (Cheryl) Henker, San Antonio, Texas; granddaughter Chris Henker, Sun Prairie, Wisc.; great-grandchildren Max Cannon, Woodland Park, Matt and Alyssa Henker, Sun Prairie; niece Bobbi Groves, Tyler, Texas; and nephew Marvin Smalling, Charlottesville, Va.

Marylene was preceded in death by her parents Della and Jesse Foster, brother Otis Foster and niece Reba Foster.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 29, at 2 p.m. at Fallbrook Church of Christ, 1588 S. Mission Road, Ste 105, in Fallbrook. Please feel free to honor her memory with brightly colored attire that she enjoyed so much.
