An armed robber made off with some inventory and an undisclosed amount of cash from the Fallbrook Radio Shack store at 1075 South Mission Road last night at about 8:40 p.m.
Detective Dan Laibach said the suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult, between 20 and 30 years of age with a medium "muscular" build.
"He was wearing a black ball cap, white or gray hoodie sweatshirt, tan shorts, and white shoes," added Laibach.
“The man came in the store and was looking at digital cameras on display,” said Sgt. Ron McCracken. “He eventually took some cameras to the counter under the auspice of asking questions about them and then, while the clerk was explaining the warranties on the items, he brandished a firearm and demanded all the money from the cash register.”
Detective Dan Laibach added that the firearm that the robber was carrying was a black handgun that he had hidden in the waistband of his trousers.
McCracken said the clerk handed over the money to the robber who then fled the store with the cash, two digital cameras, a cleaning CD, and a memory card.
Laibach said the robber appeared to escape the area on foot as no vehicle was seen in connection with the incident.
“He is still at large at this time,” said McCracken.
The Sheriff's Department would not disclose the amount of cash stolen in the incident.
